Welcome To Chism Farms!

Chism Farms is a growing multi-generational family farm that produces corn and soybeans. The farm started in our family in 1882 on 60 acres of land. While the crops and production methods have changed over the years, many things have remained steadfast. Agriculture is our way of life and we enjoy the work we do. Our vision is to be an agricultural enterprise that focuses on being profitable, progressive and sustainable. We challenge ourselves and our employees to be people of integrity at work and at home. We will be cost effective and environmentally sound.
The agriculture industry is rapidly changing. The past several years have yielded enormous technological advances in equipment, seed, information gathering and marketing which were not available to our ancestors. Chism Farms utilizes these new technologies and will continue to seek additional efficiencies as we move into the future.

PREPPING

During the winter months we take time to service, calibrate and repair our equipment for the future growing season. We call this process prepping.

PLANTING

Planting season typically starts with corn in mid April and ends with soybeans at the end of May.

SPRAYING

We conservatively use spraying techniques to help control weeds and plant diseases that may occur during the growing season.

HARVEST

During the fall all of our hard work pays off! We monitor and record yields using GPS equipment as we progress through harvest.
